OWEN WANTS TO PLAY

The former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has said that he is extremely keen to play at Old Trafford when Stoke city take on Manchester United during the next weekend. After being released from his contract at the end of last season, Michael Owen is set to join Stoke city after careful consideration. Even though he has not been able to score his first goal for the club in the few minutes he has played, Michael Owen is all set to be fit for the match against Old Trafford after the international break. He has said that he hopes that the manager Tony Pulis will hand him a starting role for this match.

Michael Owen has always been regarded as one of the best strikers in world football, but the edge has been taken out of his game in the last few seasons due to numerous injuries. However, he still managed to get a goal every three games for Manchester United, which is very impressive when you consider that he played as a substitute for most of the matches. The Stoke manager Tony Pulis said after his arrival that he is no doubt one of the best players England has produced, and he will be a great addition to the team.

“I was looking at it thinking Liverpool away and Manchester United away, it was going to be an interesting October. Obviously I missed the first one but I am desperate to be fit for the second one,” said Michael Owen in a recent interview. The striker missed the chance to play at Anfield before the international break after he missed the match due to a hamstring tweak. Stoke city managed a 0-0 draw with Liverpool. This helped them to get yet another point at Anfield where they have not won for 49 years.
