VIDIC BACKS CURRENT TEAM

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has said that the current team is better than any other team under the history of Sir Alex Ferguson at the club. United are currently 15 points ahead of their nearest rivals Manchester City in the second place. As a result, there is a feeling that they already have one hand on the title. However, they can go even better by beating Chelsea’s record of 95 points in a single season. United have lost just three matches all season long, while they have drawn just two matches. This puts them on course to achieving a record points tally at the end of the season if they maintain their current form.

After missing out on most of last season due to an injury, Nemanja Vidic has been playing regularly in recent weeks. There have been comparisons between the current Manchester United team and the previous ones constructed by Ferguson. Vidic is of the opinion that this team is better than the previous ones as they have the stats to back them up. United have not lost on the last 18 matches in the league. However, unlike the teams in the past, United have been knocked out of all the cup competitions this season.

“This is a great achievement. If you have those stats, you cannot argue. I think we’ve played well this year, we’ve scored many goals. Okay, maybe we can improve certain things, but if you look at the team performance this year I think it is better than any other season. We’ve used so many players this season. So many players have a role to play, so, credit to everyone. We are determined to win the trophies. We care about style too, but I think it is most important to think game by game,” said Vidic.
