Moyes Planning Luke Shaw Bid

David Moyes, the new boss at Old Trafford is all ready to pay a whooping 75,000 pounds a week to the eighteen year old Luke Shaw to bring him on board. This sum is by far the highest as compared to Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Man United’s Adnan Januzaj, where 60,000 pounds a week deal was signed by both of them as teens. With this, Southampton lad almost quadrupled his Southampton wages.

Shaw made his Debut in England on Wednesday, while the Saints seem ready as well to open talk to bring him on the team. Last July, David signed his 5 year contract, which was his first professional one. Besides United, Shaw was also demanded by Manchester City and Chelsea. Leaving back all, United seems all determined to grab the defender no matter what it takes.

Shaw however is an ardent fan of Chelsea since his folks hail from a place close to Surrey where the Chelsea team trains. It was however reported that Moyes still believes that they are in the top of the list of clubs who can grab Shaw.

Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s manager at the moment seems pretty unwilling to match the sky high quote as given by the Saints. However, Moyes is ready to gamble with Shaw right now, dishing out the staggering amount to bag the hottest young sensation English football has seen in some time. Shaw seems to be a perfect fit for the new United squad Moyes plans to field in the next season.

Old Trafford of late signed an extended contract with Wayne Rooney shedding out a whopping 300,000 pounds a week, while Juan Mara was captured from Chelsea for a staggering 37 million pounds, which is a club record.

WILL UNITED MAKE IT?

Manchester United are in danger of missing out on Champions League football for next season, which could create severe problems for the club on the financial front.

However, Chief Executive Ed Woodward has dismissed such speculation by saying that United will be fine even without the Premier European competition. DISASTER?

This season has not been less than a disaster for Manchester United. They have been out of top 5 in the League table right from the start of the season and their chances of making it to the Champions League are not very good.

Now, adding insult to injury, the boss David Moyes has made the statement that if the team doesn’t finish in top 4 in the league table in the ongoing season, Wayne Rooney might refuse to renew his contract at Old Trafford.

Now, that’s something which would have left most of the Manchester United fans worried. The last thing that they would want after such a horrifying season is the departure of one of their top players.

Rooney’s desire of leaving United is not new. He was reported to have requested for transfer at the end of the last season, but, Moyes managed to convince him somehow to stay.

But, now, with the Red Devils struggling for even a Champions League place, one should not be surprised if this proves to be Rooney’s last season at Old Trafford.

It is believed that the Manchester United management wants to start the talks of contract renewal with Rooney, but, the star striker doesn’t want so right now.

Rooney probably would like to wait till the end of this season before reaching any conclusion.

There would be plenty of clubs looking to sign Rooney if he decides to make his way away from Old Trafford. He is one of the top strikers going around and he still has plenty of football left in him.

Even at the start of this season, Chelsea FC had placed a bid of about 30 million Pounds for him, but, that had been rejected by Manchester United.

WIN WILL DO IT

Manchester United have the opportunity to go very close to sealing qualification to the last 16 stage of the Champions league, but they could only manage a draw with bottom club Real Sociedad on Tuesday night. The 0-0 draw was a disappointing result for David Moyes and his men especially considering that they were in recent form in recent weeks. After the encounter, Moyes said that he is disappointed to have only taken a point from a match that appeared to present three before the start.

Summer signing Marouane Fellaini, who started in midfield along with Ryan Giggs, was sent off after a second yellow card. Robin van Persie also missed a penalty, which would have given them the lead in the match. Striker Javier Hernandez, who was given a rare start by Moyes, missed a glorious opportunity from 6 yards out. Despite this draw, United still remain top of their group with eight points compared to the seven of Bayern Leverkusen. Still, it was a great opportunity for United to assert their superiority in the group.

Their next European match will be against the Germans followed by the final group match against Shakhtar Donetsk, who are still in with a shout to qualify for the knockout stages.

“It shouldn’t have been a draw, it should have been a victory, we played well enough to win the game, made a lot of chances, and we missed a penalty as well. When you get opportunities you want to take them. Those opportunities tonight would have made sure we were well clear at the top of the group, but we’re still in a good position. We go to Leverkusen next and then we play Shakhtar Donetsk at home, so hopefully in those two games we’ll make sure we qualify,” said Moyes after the match.
